Design Director at Travel + Leisure for seven years under editor-in-chief, Nancy Novogrod, where together with a talented staff, we won many awards both from the Society of Publication Designers and the American Association of Magazine Editors. We were known for hiring photographers, writers, and artists outside the travel category. I also spent a brief time as Design Director at Condé Nast Traveler, and there were the occasional travel stories at D la Repubblica . . . but none matched the creativity and freedom of T+L
